Season 2024/25

The George Bolton Swimming Centre is open for 2024/25. The Summer season is due to conclude on Sunday 27 April 2025.

The Swimming Centre is an outdoor seasonal facility, generally operating between September and April each year.

Please continue reading for further information and have a look at our FAQ section for greater detail.

Active Members (Multi-Visit Pass and 12 Month Memberships)

All multi-visit passes are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.

All 12 month memberships, that allow unlimited access to the Centre throughout the outdoor season, have a 12 month expiry from the date of purchase.

If you have an active membership with the Centre, please feel free to check in with our friendly reception team to confirm visits remaining and current expiry.

Parties at the Pool

Whilst we do not facilitate or take bookings for parties at the Swimming Centre, groups are welcome to enjoy a party at the pool.

If you wish to host a birthday party at GBSC, please email the following relevant information through to pool@burnside.sa.gov.au

  • Date & Time you plan on attending
  • Contact name & number
  • Birthday party child name
  • Number of attendees, highlighting any children under 5yrs and how many adults are attending.

Party groups are required to follow the Watch Around Water and Safe Pool Supervision Ratios, as outlined on the Watch Around Water section of the website.

Please note, as the weather gets warmer, the Centre becomes very popular. In the instance where the Centre reaches capacity, entry may need to be restricted to ensure safety is maintained. It is important to know, whilst this is a rare occurrence, if Centre capacity is reached and entry restrictions are in place, we cannot guarantee entry for party guests. We understand this can be disappointing if people are waiting in lines or unable to enter, however patron safety is a priority.

Groups are welcome to bring food an drinks into the Centre. Please be mindful as glassware, crockery and alcohol are not permitted. All items will need to be carried from the carpark area that surrounds Hazelwood Park. Parking directly outside the Centre is reserved for patrons with accessible parking permits.

Whilst we appreciate having awareness of planned parties, Centre communication does not reserve pool space, tables, barbeques or guarantee entry if capacity is reached. The focus of Centre communication is outlining important safety requirements and conditions of entry for attending groups to be aware of.

Please feel free to call the Centre on 8366 4290 or email pool@burnside.sa.gov.au with any questions.

Car Parking

The main car park for the Swimming Centre is located off Howard Tce. There is also 2 hour parking access along the west side of Howard Tce. For those with a disabled parking permit, you may use the access road via Davenport Tce and park closer to the Centre. A boom gate with intercom system restricts entry to other vehicles.

Schools/Hirers

All hirers need to have read and understood the 'Conditions of Hire' and complete the 'Pool Booking Form'. Schools looking to book in carnivals, must contact the Centre and fill out the 'Pool Booking Form' and 'Carnival Booking Form'. The Centre staff require a copy of the hirer's certificate of currency.

Schools wishing to use the Centre for recreation weeks (last two weeks of term 4) are able to enquire and book as of the start of term 4.

Schools within the City of Burnside can book as of week 1 in term 4, schools outside this area can book as of week 2 in term 4.
