Community Defibrillator Hire

A defibrillator (AED) is a portable device to be used on a person that is in cardiac arrest before an ambulance arrives.

An AED machine is available for community groups and organisations located within the City of Burnside to hire for events.

AEDs can be used by the general public and will provide voiced instructions to guide the user. Once active, the AED will deliver a measured electrical shock to restore the normal effective cardiac rhythm in the patient - you cannot hurt someone by using an AED.

A hire agreement needs to be completed prior to the event. This is located in the form below. Once the form has been completed, a member of Council's Community Connections Team will be in touch to confirm your booking.

You must read the terms and conditions(PDF, 424KB) prior to completing the hire form.

Returning the AED

Please inspect the AED machine thoroughly and complete the return checklist below prior to returning. You must ensure that all equipment (including any instructions or documentation provided) is returned to the City of Burnside in the same condition as it was provided, on the agreed return date or earlier if we request it.
