Are you wanting to assist our community, or have an idea of how to improve it? The City of Burnside offers numerous types of incentive opportunities and grants. Get out there and become engaged in our community.

The City of Burnside is committed to the development and effective working partnerships with individuals and community groups/organisations in ensuring the City of Burnside has a resilient, happy, healthy and connected community.

Terms, conditions and eligibility criteria apply to all of Council's Community Funding and Sponsorship programs. Please ensure you have read and understood the Policy(PDF, 139KB) and associated guidelines for the program you wish to apply for.

Community Grants

Our community grants provide support to community ideas that encourage local groups and organisations to build a welcoming and connected community enhancing inclusion, participation and wellbeing. It is an annual grant program that generally closes in March each year.

Community Sponsorship

Do you have a great idea or event proposal that would benefit our city? The City of Burnside provides financial or in-kind sponsorship for initiatives that will deliver tangible benefits to Council and the community, and help make Burnside a great place to live, work and do play.

Quick Response Grants

Grants are awarded up to the total of $500 per application. Quick Response Grants are intended to be a fast approval and include the following categories of Sport, Youth, Environment, Positive Ageing and Small Equipment.

Council Contributions to Community Facilities

The Council Contribution to Community Facilities Policy provides guidance around Council funding contributions to significant upgrades to community facilities, including, under what circumstances funding will be considered, to whom and to what extent.

Acquittal Reports

If your funding application is approved, you will be expected to complete a financial reconciliation and outcomes report. This entails submitting all receipts within 3 months of purchases to ensure the funds have been spent in accordance with our Community Grants and Sponsorship policy.
