Youth Concert Band
Burnside Youth Concert Band is a Youth Concert Band for Musicians aged from 8-26 from all across Adelaide’s Metropolitan area. Our aim is to provide a fun, safe, inclusive and supportive space for young musicians to share their enjoyment in performing live music.
The band rehearses every Wednesday during school Terms from 5:15 pm -7:45 pm, upstairs in the Burnside Town Hall that is part of the Council Buildings on the corner of Portrush Road and Greenhill Road.
The band performs in a range of settings such as, Band Festivals, Australia Day and Citizenship Ceremonies and collaborates with a number of other Adelaide bands. The highlight of the band's year is an Annual Cabaret event, held in September in the Burnside Ballroom.
As well as performances, the band has hosted workshops available to the public with professional tutors and conductors.
The band plays music between Australian Music Education Board (AMEB) Grades 2-4 and aims to provide opportunities for musicians of all abilities who play woodwind, percussion, brass and string bass. Our musical repertoire is diverse and reflects the interests of our members.
Interested players are welcome to 'come and try’ at any time. For ongoing members there is a small membership fee.
