Overview:
A Chat with Local Volunteer assists in the effective and efficient running of activities and or participants within the Burnside Community Centre. Reporting to the Volunteer Supervisor, Community Centres Coordinator, the Volunteer will support residents, staff and other volunteers in relation to the Activity or Group.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate or assist an activity of group within the Centre
- Work with other volunteers within the group
- Maintain the work area in a clean and tidy manner
- Wear appropriate neat casual clothing, name badges and closed footwear
- Adhere to Customer Service standards, EO principles and WHS policies
- Promote and project Council's commitment as a Customer Focused organisation
- The Incumbent is responsible and accountable for adequately managing the official records he/she creates and receives,according to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Skills/experience/qualifications:
- Strong customer service focus and commitment in providing excellence in customer service\to providing excellence in customer service
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals on a personal level and on the telephone
- Working with people of Non English Speaking Background
- Previous experience in teaching Non English Speaking Background
- High degree of personal integrity and deal with matters confidentially
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- Flexible work approach
- Community minded and engaging
- A Police Check is required to be maintained with this position and held current every three (3) years.
