The Volunteer's role is to assist with the issuing and returns of toys and other library materials that have been returned to the Toy Library
Required:
- Volunteers required to assist for weekly shifts
- Current clearances - Police check and Working With Children Check
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to the Volunteer Supervisor of the Toy Library program with the day to day activities of the department
- Preparing toys for distribution - look for damage, clean and stock-take prior to shelving
- Advise Toy Library members of any issues with resources such as missing pieces, overdue items and cleanliness of items and breakages
- Catalogue, repair, display and maintain toys
- Processing of new toys
- Notifying staff if resources require debiting
- May provide information and assistance to members on appropriate toys for children
Experience/Qualifications:
- Background in either: schools, kindergartens, libraries, community centres, childcare. recreational programs or toy Library
- Previous experience in childhood development / education, libraries or allied fields.
- Working with children and dealing with the general public
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
- Community minded and engaging
- Long term volunteers
