Deceased Animals

Council Land

If you come across a deceased animal on Council land (reserves, roads, footpaths or on Council property), Council can remove the deceased animal. Submit a report about a deceased animal on Council land via Action Burnside. Please provide any landmarks that may make it easier to find and the type of animal that is deceased in your request.

Private Land

Unfortunately, Council employees are not permitted to access private property and can not remove those deceased animals.

Pets

If a cat or dog has died, local veterinary clinics can provide disposal services.

Timeframe

Requests are generally actioned within one business day if lodged between Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Requests lodged outside of these hours will be actioned the following business day. Please note these timeframes are subject to change.
