The mosquito is a pest that bites and annoys both humans and animals, but some species also have the potential to spread disease.

With the possibility of contracting Ross River Virus from mosquitoes present in South Australia, mosquito control is an issue of high importance. The best way to control mosquitoes is to prevent them from breeding.

As mosquitoes breed in water you can help reduce the number of mosquitoes in your area by removing or treating water storages around your property. Popular breeding sites include containers that hold water such as rainwater tanks, neglected swimming pools, bases of pot plants, tyres, buckets, blocked guttering, ornamental ponds, fountains or bird baths and pet bowls.
