Illegal Dumping
Illegal dumping is the deliberate disposal of materials onto public land without a licence, permit or approval from the relevant authority. It is a criminal offence, with a maximum penalty of $5,000.
Illegal dumping is a concern as it can cause environmental harm and can be a public safety risk, especially when there are sharp objects and asbestos involved.
Illegally dumped waste is also expensive for Council and the community to clean up.
If you have any items to dispose of, please see further information:
If you see illegal dumping activity on public land please contact the Ranger Services at the City of Burnside on 8366 4200.
