Response to Daily Mail Australia.

The journalist was surveying every council in South Australia to find out their plans for Australia Day, asking the following questions:

  • Is your council holding a citizenship ceremony on 26 January?
  • Will the council hold any events to mark Australia Day on 26 January? What are they?

The City of Burnside will conduct a Citizenship and Australia Day Awards Ceremony on 26 January at the Regal Theatre between 9 am and 11.30 am. Attendees will be recipients and their guests, local dignitaries and Australia Day Ambassador Kate Swaffer. This is consistent with other Citizenship Ceremonies that are hosted throughout the year.
