Chapel Street Community Garden Inc. (CSCG Inc.) is a community initiative created in 2012, with support from City of Burnside and Morialta Uniting Church, within the residential parklands on Chapel Street, Magill. It is a community for all levels of expertise, from novice to expert, to come together to encourage sustainable, environmentally friendly gardening. With this comes additional benefits to member’s social, physical and mental wellbeing.

'Where seeds come to life and friendships grow!'

It is a fee-paying member’s community garden (security gated) promoting the growing of organic produce in a variety of beds to suit all needs - individual raised plots of various sizes or shared plots. A reduced Community Membership is also available for those who do not wish the responsibility of an actual plot. All members will have access to the garden’s facilities, communal beds and fruit trees. In addition, membership currently entitles members to a 10% discount at Heyne’s Garden Centre.

For information on the current Membership fees please email chapelstgarden@morialtauca.org.au.

There are also many sub-groups members can join, that help ensure the garden flourishes all year round, for example Fruit Tree Action Group and Compost Group Crew.

The whole membership is involved in the maintenance of CSGC Inc. with weekly and monthly working bees. These are also an opportunity to share the 'fruits of our labours' during morning or afternoon tea! In December, a Christmas Breakfast is held to present 'awards' to deserving members.

Additional communication between members is via regular email Newsletters and members can also join the private Facebook Group to keep up to date with garden events; share advice, recipes and general gardening information linking with other community gardens in the local area.
