Michael Perry Botanic Reserve
Michael Perry Botanic Reserve in Stonyfell is one of our most iconic reserves and is well used by walkers who enjoy the trail along Second Creek.
The reserve was created in the 1970s after subdivision of the historic Clifton Estate, one of South Australia’s most historic homesteads.
Named after Michael Perry - Councillor, Alderman and Mayor from 1958 to 1983 - this reserve is part of the former Clifton Estate established in the 1850s by George Sismey, who was an early investor in the mine and quarry industries of South Australia.
At their meeting on 18 June 2024, Council declared new dog on-leash areas in Chambers Gully Reserve, Heatherbank Reserve, Michael Perry Reserve and the wetland area at Kensington Gardens Reserve/Kensington Wama (C62024/13719). Further information is available on Council's Dogs and Wildlife webpage.
