Selection submission information

Pepper Street Arts Centre (PSAC) invites new artists and artists with a new range of work, to contribute to exhibition, gift shop and artist of the month programs. Established, hobbyist and emerging artists are all welcome.

All artworks are subject to a selection process for the following areas:

Exhibitions: The exhibition space is available for hire for group shows and individual artists. For more information on the hire of this space and to obtain a separate exhibition application form please contact the Exhibitions and Community Arts Officer.

Hosted exhibitions: PSAC organises, and hosts mixed media exhibitions for the benefit of all artists who wish to apply. These are typically for the Adelaide Fringe Festival, South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) and Little Treasures (Christmas show). For more information on the theme and timeline of these exhibitions please refer the call for artists section below. Each artist selected to exhibit will be required to pay a small exhibition fee (the amount varies depending on the exhibition).

Gift Shop: Local artists who specialise in high quality and affordable art and craft are welcome to submit for inclusion in the gift shop.

Artist of the Month: A featured area at the entrance of the gift shop is provided to highlight a new range of works by new and continuing artists, primarily suited to 3D artworks. Some 2D will be considered.

Commission is 33% including GST, excluding ongoing volunteers (22%).

Online applications are now being accepted by the Pepper Street Arts Centre Selection Panel.

Important information

  1. The selection panel is a group of experienced, local artists and craftspeople.
  2. You will receive a confirmation of your application once it has been submitted.
  3. The selection panel meet monthly to assess applications. Therefore it can take several weeks for staff to contact you in regards to the outcome of your application.
  4. In certain circumstances, the panel may ask for you to bring in actual examples of your artwork, to support your online application. If this is necessary, staff will contact you to make a suitable time to do this.
  5. The Centre reserves the right to refuse accepted artwork which is not considered in keeping with the style and standard submitted in your application.
  6. The panel and staff are not required to give feedback to artists relating to their submission.
