Quick Response Grants

Grants are awarded up to the total of $500 per application.

Quick Response Grants are intended to be a fast approval and include the following categories of Sport, Youth, Environment, Positive Ageing and Small Equipment. Applicants must meet the requirements of the Community Grants but approval for funding is being provided outside of the usual Community Grants program submission periods.

  • Funding is provided throughout the financial year, with an anticipated notification time of three weeks from receipt of application.
  • Funding will be provided to eligible community groups/organisations and individuals.
  • Quick Response Grants are available for time-limited and project-based activities which align with the categories of Quick Response Grants and are undertaken within a 12 month period.
  • Quick Response Grants will open on the first day of each quarter (January, April, July, October).
  • Applicants must apply for the event/activity in the quarter their activity takes place.
  • Eligible individuals can apply for a maximum of $150 for state events/competitions; $300 for interstate events/competitions; $500 for international events/competitions. Eligible Community Groups can apply for a maximum of $500.
  • Applicants may not receive the full amount requested and funding is only available until the quarterly budget has been fully allocated.
  • Applications will not be accepted for activities or events that have already passed.
  • Priority will be given to first time applicants and new innovative events / initiatives. Previous applicants can still apply but may not receive to full amount requested.

Applications 

Funding allocation for the for the July to September quarter has been fully exhausted, as such the program is currently closed. The program will reopen on 1 October 2024 for activities occurring in the October to December quarter. 

The Australian Sports Commission has a Local Sporting Champions program that could be helpful. This externally funded program offers financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships. If successful, applicants may receive $500-$750 towards the cost of attending their championships.
