The City of Burnside’s Urban Forest has a healthy mix of species and we aim to increase species diversity by planting up to 60 different species each year!
Of the 42,941 street and reserve trees in the City of Burnside, 6019 (or 14 per cent) are Jacaranda trees.
Visit our Urban Forest Interactive website for all the detailed stats, you can even find out where every Jacaranda is planted and detailed information about each individual tree at https://bit.ly/CoBForest
Our Jacarandas are across the city however the premier locations to get your purple fix include:
- L’Estrange Street, Queen Street and Allinga Avenue in Glenside.
- Angelsey Avenue, St Georges.
- Main Avenue and Avenue Road in Frewville.
- Hazelwood Avenue and Knightsbridge Avenue in Hazelwood Park.
- Stanley Street, Leabrook.
- Cuthero Terrace, Kensington Gardens.
- Beulah Road, Kensington Park.
- Fisher Street and Stirling Street, Tusmore.
- Ormond Grove and Grant Avenue, Rose Park and Toorak Gardens.
Advice for this time year - heading into summer trees love water so give them a drink. A healthy tree will produce more flowers next season.
