Conyngham Street Community Garden was established by the City of Burnside in 2022. With a strong emphasis on community engagement and environmental sustainability, this open-access garden is recognised as a valuable space that enhances health and wellbeing, fosters positive social interaction, builds community capacity, and promotes the education of environmental and sustainability principles.

The garden welcomes participants of all experience levels, from beginners to experts, to collaborate in cultivating a sustainable, eco-friendly garden. This initiative not only supports environmental stewardship but also offers significant benefits to the social, physical, and mental wellbeing of its volunteers. To be a member of this garden you need to be a registered Council volunteer. The guiding principles for our community garden volunteers include:

  • Collaborating to create a beautiful, safe, and nourishing garden that is welcoming and shared by everyone.
