Conyngham Street Dog Park

Conyngham Street Dog Park

Through negotiation with the Minister for Sustainability, Environment and Conservation, the City of Burnside has secured a 10-year licence over the existing Conyngham Street Dog Park. However, as part of the licence agreement, improvements to the dog park require the approval of the Minister and must be removable.

Council has negotiated this lease to ensure it is available to dog owners and has invested $50,000 in the site to date.

The community told Council they wanted more investment in upgrading the park and Council agreed to allocate a further $50,000 to upgrade the park.

In 2023/24 the re-development of the park to create a separate space for small dogs was completed.

The State Government can end the lease with nine months’ written notice however the community has embraced the park and made it very clear to Council they want it to stay and for Council to develop it further.

If you require more information about the Dog Park, please do not hesitate to contact Council's Community Experience team on 8366 4200.
