The Regal Theatre precinct redevelopment aims to revitalise this iconic Adelaide cultural institution, enhancing its role as a leading performing arts venue. The project will improve accessibility, patron experience, and outdoor spaces while offering more performances and dining options.

The redevelopment aims to:

  • Enhance the Theatre's functionality and heritage.
  • Create multi-use spaces for movies, live events and complementary activities to increase the use of the Theatre and surrounding outdoor precinct.
  • Ensure best practices for disability access.
  • Increase usable outdoor spaces, tree canopy and promote environmental sustainability.

Council approved the Regal Theatre precinct master plan in August 2022, with construction targeted for 2025, pending approvals and funding.
